Getting Bigger

Somewhere around my 6th or 7th week I began to feel like I was getting fat.  Another good sign, right?  My clothes still fit, I just felt like I had a little belly.  I thought I was beginning to show earlier than I did in my last viable pregnancy.  Perhaps it is because I had been pregnant before.  But then I thought, what if I was having twins!  Oh, the crazy things I kept thinking during that first trimester.  At least I knew all the emotions meant I was really pregnant this time!

Anticipation

Due to the fact I have had so many miscarriages, and being at a new school, I was extremely hesitant to tell anyone that I was pregnant.  I decided to wait until after winter break to let everyone know.  By that time I will be well into my 2nd trimester (15 weeks to be exact).  I decided that first I would tell my students, then I would announce it on my class website.

Emotions

As I walked around campus in the early weeks of my pregnancy I kept thinking, what happens if I start miscarrying at school?  I would get teary eyed and want to just cry my eyes out.  I took this as a good sign that this time it was a viable pregnancy.

Kindergarten

The last time I was pregnant I was a computer teacher so I shared lots of quote from students of all ages. Now I am a kindergarten teacher so the quotes will be coming mostly from 5 and 6 years old children.

Breastfeeding

I don't mean to be critical of anyone who doesn't breastfeed but I stumbled upon this really interesting information on the internet.  I found the benefits of breastfeeding listed on this page very interesting, especially #4.  That one is awesome, my favorite!  Well, okay, it is not my absolutely favorite fact about breastfeeding.  It is my favorite benefits of breastfeeding for the mother!

I completely understand there are a lot of reasons why women don't breastfeed.  I am supportive of either decision.  I was so blessed to be able to breastfeed my daughter.  I pray the circumstances will be the same for my next child, that is my wish for me and my future children. I understand not everyone has the same opinions as me.  I just wanted to share this really interesting fact.  Be sure to click the link to find out what the awesome fact is.  Maybe you already knew it.  I didn't.

I know this post doesn't fall exactly into the theme of the blog but it is kind of about pregnancy. . .
